Position Overview

The Field Engineer 1 supervises and ensures surveying, procurement assistance and production for dredging operations, are completed as per project specifications.

This position will be located in Covington, LA.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze collected data to monitor production and modify as necessary to achieve maximum production.
  • Provide training and oversight of Field Engineers 2 & 3.
  • Provide dredge with accurate surveys and vessel positioning to ensure accurate production measurements and correct location of channel, as per contract.
  • Provide hydrographic surveys required for project monitoring and payment quantities.
  • Responsible for the care of and timely shipments of repair of all hydro survey equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of survey activities.
  • Coordinate survey activities with the Project Engineer to meet schedule requirements.
  • Provide daily support of dredge procurement requirements.
  • Assist in the generation of daily reports and assembly and maintenance of proper job records.
  • Provide support in the maintenance of vehicle and equipment assigned to project.
  • Ensures compliance of company policies.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical engineer / land surveying experience preferred with ideally 6+ months dredging production monitoring and analyzing experience.
  • Thorough knowledge and ability to use all surveying equipment and techniques.
  • Ability to accurately read contract drawings.
  • Ability to conduct earthwork volume computations.
  • Proficient skills in standard office software packages.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to work 84-hour work week. 19 days on, 9 days off, revised as necessary.
  • Ability to live aboard vessel for full rotation.
  • Willingness and ability to travel required.
  • This position requires fluent use of the verbal and written English language.
