Planned Parenthood of Southwestern Oregon (PPSO) has been dedicated to providing expert reproductive health care and sexuality education in Southwestern Oregon for over 55 years.

PPSO provides more than 30,000 patient visits each year at four health centers and via telehealth. PPSO is also regarded as the region’s most respected provider of medically accurate sexuality education for young people and adults, as well as training programs for professionals who work with youth and families.

Education and training programs make over 10,000 contacts each year, transforming the lives of young people in southwestern Oregon.

PPSO’s essential health services include breast and cervical cancer screenings, well-woman annual exams, birth control, abortion care, LGBTQ+ health, STI prevention, testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, PrEP (Pre-exposure prophylaxis), HPV vaccinations, vasectomies, and more.

Position Summary

In collaboration with PPSO leadership, the Clinical Training Manager’s primary focus is the development, administration, and management of clinical training programs which prepare health center staff and clinicians for their roles in accordance with established accreditation standards and requirements.

The Clinical Training Manager is also responsible for providing limited clinical reproductive health care on a regular basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES : Essential Duties

Essential Duties

  • Provide training for clinical practices which include, but are not limited to, phlebotomy, injections, precepting, IV’s, minimal and moderate sedation, and ultrasound.
  • Collaborate with management to facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires, and ongoing competency training for existing Patient Services staff.
  • Work with the Patient Services Leadership Team to set goals, objectives, and standards for the Patient Services Annual Training Program;

including comprehensive onboarding materials, curricula, manuals, and evaluation criteria.

  • Create and maintain clinical training strategies, initiatives, and materials in accordance with the Planned Parenthood Medical Standards and Guidelines.
  • Seek innovative approaches for delivering and facilitating training, including group training, one-on-one training, online training and external training opportunities.
  • Works to ensure Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) principles are woven throughout trainings.
  • Maintains external and community contacts who can assist in helping to meet PPSO’s training needs.
  • Actively participates in the delivery of reproductive health services including abortion care. Participation can include, but is not limited to, referrals, information, education, counseling, dispensing, etc.
  • Maintain personnel training documents in accordance with Human Resources and Risk Quality Compliance Plan.
  • Review employee performance, skills and techniques to assess training effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Current Oregon license as a Registered Nurse and current BLS certificate.
  • At least one (1) year teaching experience; Includes virtual platforms and in-person training.
  • At least one (1) year experience providing direct patient care, post-licensure.
  • ACLS certified, or ability to obtain certification upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Significant experience in a supervisory or training role, preferably in the healthcare field.
  • Previous experience in program management is a plus.
  • Ability to develop policies and standard procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health equity frameworks.
  • Familiar with reproductive and / or sexual health care.
