For more information please visit www.hzpc.com.Your contribution : As Business Development Manager you report to the President, and you are the advocate for all value chain customers excluding processing.

You will interface with HZPC dealers, multipliers, marketers, packers, shippers, growers and value chain partners (like broad liners, foodservice suppliers, etc.

You will serve as an integral member of the team identifying and activating unmet demand in the value chain through research, interactions as mentioned above and supporting the work of the Potato Glory team.

You will work with the Production Manager, Product Manager, Potato Glory Brand Manager, and Key Account Manager to execute on the opportunities you identify and develop.

Your role will provide support and feedback to the President to help shape sales tactics and strategies across US, Canada and emerging export markets.

As Business Development Manager you are responsible for the following primary tasks : New variety development & sales support activitiesCreate, implement and manage go to market strategies for new varieties incoming to the North American potato market.

Participate in field, storage and packing visits to accurately understand customers’ needs and provide support as needed.

Provide feedback to the Product Manager on variety portfolio strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.Develop collateral for distribution to the HZPC Dealer Network to support introduction and sales of new varieties.

Create and deliver communication plan to value chain customers on the new varieties and how it can meet or exceed their needs.

Support Potato Glory effortsPotato Glory is an HZPC owned brand focused on education and awareness surrounding potato differentiation in North America.

In order to help meet these ends, this role will support with market intelligence, variety education and event support.Coordinate value chain management to deliver on product for Potato Glory projects and events.

When possible, convert Potato Glory identified opportunities into sales opportunities for HZPC value chain partners.Sales pipeline developmentRepresent HZPC in value chain partner meetings to identify unmet needs and match with providers within the HZPC network.

Gather varietal needs from key industry partners to help shape variety portfolio feedback.Coordinate with Production Manager on developing sourcing plans for new opportunities and assist in managing execution.

Other duties as assigned.Your profile : You are enthusiastic and passionate about our products and you are a true customer advocate.

You challenge our direct and indirect clients and HZPC colleagues to continuously improve both the products and services we offer.

You can deal with multiple projects and tasks at the same time while maintaining (strategic) overview. You understand our customers and the market you are working in and have good communication skills.

You live in either the U.S. or Canada and may work from your home-based office as this position requires regular travel within North America (50-60%) as well as periodic travel to EU countries for development training.

You also have : A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an area of the potato value chain.

Agronomical and market knowledge of HZPC varieties is a strong plus.Analytical skills to segment the market and identify opportunities.

An ability to build professional relationships with confidence.A high degree of independency (able to work independently, self-starter mentality, taking initiatives and detail oriented).
