Job Summary
Reporting to Materials Management leadership, a Materials Coordinator - Periop is responsbile for full inventory management of perioperative supplies utilizing Pyxis, Workday, and / or Optiflex.
They also provide surgical staff with specialty item needs, tracking, reports, and bill-only requisitions. In the absence of a Supervisor / Manager, a Materials Coordinator - Periop will direct departmental operations.
Accountabilities
- Manages OR supply inventory as assigned by reviewing storage areas and usage daily. Orders both routine and specialty products, coordinating and verifying their tracking, receiving, and stocking.
- Utilizes OptiFlex, Workday, and / or Pyxis materials management programs.
- Performs case pick process, determined by Picklist, to include scheduled and add-on cases in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintains departmental phone to expedite supplies needed and return unused supplies to inventory.
- Interacts and communicates with customers to facilitate needed supplies / instruments in a positive and supportive manner.
- Properly maintain signed documentation for picklist / DPC / reports and departmental logs. Produce bill-only requisitions as applicable.
- Communicate pertinent information to Supervisor / Manager. Coordinates the departmental operations in the absence of Supervisor / Manager.

Minimum Requirements
Post high school education of up to 18 months in Surgical Technology
2 years of Operating Room or Materials / Supply experience
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements
In lieu of the education requirements, will accept High School diploma or GED and 4 years of Operating Room or Materials / Supply experience.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Experience with Workday, Pyxis, and / or Optiflex preferred.
