Job Description
The Department of Psychology at Ohio University invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor of Instruction to begin no later than mid-August 2025 or as early as January 2025.
Teaching load is 4 courses each semester with opportunity for summer teaching at additional compensation. The position is for in-person instruction on the Athens campus as well as online instruction in our fully online degree in Psychology.
Position requires 20% devoted to service, including advising undergraduate psychology majors and serving on department, college, and / or university committees.

The Department of Psychology has 22 tenure-track faculty and 7 instructional faculty serving across the Athens campus and seven regional campuses and centers in Southern and Central Ohio as well as a vibrant online undergraduate degree program.
Our instructional faculty are an integral part of our program and involved in decision-making within the department. We are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service to the 1190+ undergraduate and 70+ graduate students it serves.
The College of Arts & Sciences is central to Ohio University’s transformative learning experience. The foundational instruction for the entire university, delivered through the general education and liberal arts curriculum, is provided by the College of Arts & Sciences.
The college provides the primary instruction for approximately one-third of the majors on campus, as well as half of the undergraduate credit hours on the Athens campus.

Minimum Qualifications in Psychology or related discipline. Must have received graduate training in psychology.
Experience teaching undergraduate level courses. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching in-person and online psychology courses.
Preference will be given to candidates that can teach one or more of our most popular core courses (, statistics, child and adolescents, and psychopathology) as well as more advanced courses. Department Psychology
