Job Description
Ohio University School of Nursing seeks a non-tenure track faculty candidate with an emphasis on nursing lab and simulation suite duties and related educational activities beginning Fall semester 2024.
This is an 11-month full time faculty position at the Assistant Professor of Instruction rank on the Athens campus which requires an on campus presence.
Key features of this position include but are not limited to :
- 1. Developing and teaching simulation scenarios and lab exercises in collaboration with other nursing faculty;
- 2. Managing and scheduling nursing lab and simulation suite learning experiences;
- 3. Ordering, maintaining, and organizing inventory and supplies needed to support the nursing labs and the simulation suite;
- 4. Maintaining the laboratory space and simulation suite appearance;
- 5. Scheduling and managing student workers to assist in the nursing labs;
- 6. Developing, recruiting, and operating a standardized patient (SP) training program to support nursing simulation education;
- 7. Working with CHSP IT personnel to record simulation according to policy and facilitating faculty assessments of SP learning / assessment sessions;
- 8. Managing the School of Nursing graduate level On Campus Intensive (OCIs) events scheduled both during the week and on weekends at various OHIO campus locations (, Athens and Dublin);
- 9. Teaching didactic and clinical courses as assigned;
10. Collaborating and actively engaging in School of Nursing governance to ensure program standards and outcomes are fully met.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
Minimum of two years (24 months full time equivalent) of clinical nursing experience in the United States is required.
A current unrestricted Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license, an unrestricted multi-state RN license, or the eligibility to obtain an unrestricted Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
Knowledge of using Microsoft Word, Office and Excel is required. Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in Nursing (MSN) or higher degree in nursing is preferred.
Previous experience of coordinating simulation scenarios for nursing education programs is preferred.
Previous experience of recruiting and training standardized patients for participation in nursing education programs is preferred. Department Nursing-Athens
