Summary

This Community Health Services (CHS) nurse leadership position will assure nursing practices and standards of care are relevant to and implemented across all CHS services that provide nursing care.

This may include but is not limited to the oversight of workflow development within the department's electronic health record.

The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating the identification, prioritization, and processing of changes to Epic Care related to care team practices.

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with the CHS quality and CHS Public Health Center (PHC) leaders to provide oversight of nursing practice.
  • Provide leadership for to assure collaboration and communication between CHS program leadership and the department's electronic health record team to prioritize and optimize the utilization of our electronic health record.
  • Assure clinical workflows meet required evidence-based competencies for clinical staff.
  • Assure compliance with established nursing standards including quality assurance and quality control standards.
  • Lead the effort to plan, execute and / or assure nurse training and development for nurses and medical assistants in collaboration with program and PHC leaders.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and design / implement improvements in collaboration with care teams and clinical leadership.
  • Develop mechanisms for supervisors to assess individual nurses and medical assistants' competencies and to assess competency integration into practice.
  • Develop effective working relationships across the department and with our external grant partners to achieve grant deliverables.
  • Manage and directly supervise clinical staff within the division's float pool.
  • Assure implementation of nursing standards of care and practices related to the delivery of quality care.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Requirements :

  • Washington State license as a Registered Nurse (in good standing) and a bachelor's degree in nursing science or a graduate level nursing degree of MSN, DNP or PhD from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Documentation of current BLS CPR certification with AED training required prior to credentialing.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license or have the ability to travel throughout King County in a timely manner.
  • Pass background check and credentialing.

Work Schedule : This position is a fully benefitted, 1.0 fte that will typically work Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. May work outside of the typical schedule to meet operational needs.

This position is exempt and not overtime eligible.

Work Location : This position is based at the Chinook Building which is located at 401 5th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104 but will cover sites throughout Seattle-King County as needed to support operations.
