The successful candidate will have senior-level experience working in Oregon state and federal courts and arbitrations, and a depth of knowledge of legal concepts, terminology, and processes.

This full-time position will primarily support one attorney and occasionally the office’s other lawyers with Oregon-based cases.

Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hybrid Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant to join our vibrant and dynamic legal team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work across a broad range of commercial litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in e-filing state-wide courts, case management, working with outside counsel, legal research, docketing, class action, e-file, and proofreading documents.

The position calls for a professional who can work closely with clients, attorneys, and counsel, and manage legal notebooks.

Responsibilities :

• Manage all aspects of complex commercial litigation cases, including e-filing in state-wide courts, case management, and working with outside counsel.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case progression and resolution.
• Maintain and manage legal docketing to ensure all deadlines are met accurately and timely.
• Assist in class action lawsuits, including coordinating with clients, attorneys, and other involved parties.
• Utilize e-file systems to organize, update, and manage critical case documents and records.
• Prepare and proofread legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and court rules.
• Work closely with clients, attorneys, and counsel, providing regular updates and maintaining open lines of communication.
• Manage legal notebooks, ensuring all relevant information and documents are organized, updated, and easily accessible.

Qualifications :

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant or similar role in the legal industry.
• Proven experience with e-filing state-wide courts, case management, and working with outside counsel.
• Strong knowledge of legal research techniques and resources.
• Proficiency in legal docketing and experience with class action lawsuits.
• Experience with e-file systems and excellent document management skills.
• Exceptional ability to work closely with clients, attorneys, and counsel, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading skills.
• Ability to manage legal notebooks effectively and efficiently.
• A bachelor's degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field is preferred.
• Paralegal certification is a plus.
