SUMMARY : The purpose of this position is to assist the prosecutors in preparing and processing their cases. This is accomplished by preparing paperwork associated with the case, retrieving files, preparing subpoenas, and requesting documents.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Responsible for interpreting and manipulating complex data sets, analyzing results, combining data accurately and consistently, and documenting changes and findings.
- Participates in correcting mismatched personal identifying information in the County's case management system.
- Acts as the primary support contact for Party ID issues and reporting County wide.
- Responds to requests to correct information in the County's case management system.
- Reports prosecutor actions on cases involving criminal defendants to the criminal justice information system (CJIS).
- Perform other duties as assigned or defined.
SUPERVISORY / BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES :
This position has no supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.

- Ability to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and other county staff.
- Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw conclusions with significant amounts of information.

- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion regarding disclosure and reporting of information.

- Ability to handle information of a sensitive and confidential nature and to maintain the confidentiality of legal, criminal, or personnel matters according to County guidelines.
- Ability and knowledge working with big data sets.
- Knowledge of appropriate protocol to use when handling phone calls and addressing staff or visitors, including the use of titles for elected officials, law enforcement, military personnel, and judicial officials.
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Skilled in communicating with clarity and accuracy to convey information and with tact to resolve problems and conflicts while remaining empathetic if necessary.
- Skilled in operating office equipment (e.g., computers, printers, copiers, and facsimile machines) and the ability to troubleshoot routine problems and to request and coordinate repair service when necessary.
- Skilled in writing to include clarity, conciseness, logical ordering of ideas, use of proper sentence structure, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, and grammar, as needed to compose, edit, and proof legal documents, correspondence, and other paperwork.
- Skilled in oral communication to include clarity, accuracy, and conciseness as needed.
- Skilled Self-Starter who can work in an unstructured environment, independently or in collaboration with a team.
- Detail oriented and accurate in handling data.
- Organized.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must be knowledgeable and proficient in use of Microsoft Office systems.
- Must be able to answer phones professionally.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Position is located in a fast-paced and high-volume office environment with little or no exposure to environmental conditions.
Health and safety hazards are minimal. No protective equipment is required. Fine dexterity, sitting, hearing, talking and vision are constantly required.
Walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling are frequently required. Bending and standing are occasionally required.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
