CCC’s Legal department prides itself on having deep expertise and relationships across all the Company’s businesses, helping to develop new lines of business, maintain existing ones, and otherwise managing the legal affairs of a growing international organization.

As Contracts Attorney, you will be an integral part of the Legal team and will have the opportunity to handle a variety of matters including evaluation, negotiation, and conclusion of a broad range of agreements, including general business contracts, vendor agreements, licenses, and software.

You will also draft form contracts and licenses for products and services and review a variety of marketing materials. You will work collaboratively with other lawyers and business colleagues, providing advice, answering questions, and drafting documents, explanations and negotiation points as needed.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Negotiate, review, and draft contracts with vendors, clients, and potential partners
  • Develop, negotiate, and revise contracts regarding CCC’s offerings, including software and licensing agreements
  • Advise business colleagues on contract and other legal matters and help ensure compliance with company policies
  • Review marketing materials used by business and sales teams
  • Participate as a good, active, thoughtful partner to business colleagues and other lawyers as they conceptualize issues and try to resolve business problems
  • Draft clear and concise legal documents and explanations of legal issues to business colleagues
  • Clearly present your written work and advice in both legal and business meetings
  • May be accountable for other results and activities as assigned

What you need :

  • JD / LLB and Bar Admission in Massachusetts, New York, or otherwise eligible for in-house counsel status with the Massachusetts Bar
  • 5+ years of legal experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts, preferably with significant exposure to different types of contracts and industries
  • Experience handling and negotiating software and software-related service agreements is preferred. Experience drafting data management and privacy agreements a plus
  • Ability to skillfully manage competing priorities
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong writing skills, including as demonstrated through at least two writing samples preferably in the form of appropriately redacted advice to non-lawyers explaining a problem and proposed legal solution
  • Experience with content licensing and advising on intellectual property matters a plus
  • Familiarity with technology tools and processes such as Salesforce, Jira, document management, and Office 365
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, good judgment, and a pragmatic, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach. This includes being a genuine business partner who will provide commercially focused advice that balances appropriate legal risk management with the need to enable and support the business
  • Ability and willingness to meet in Boston, Massachusetts area periodically for team functions (approximately 4 times per year)

Compensation range : $115,000 - $150,000

The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, licensure, certifications, related experience, and other related factors.
