Job Summary : EMCOR Government Services is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to assist in leading our contract operations supporting the Department of Labor headquartered in Washington DC.
The Assistant Project Manager manages the Operations and Maintenance (O&M), facility operations, maintenance, repair, remediation, and management services for a large government facility.
Serves as an interface between the customer and the company. Delivers exceptional site leadership, customer service, positive employee engagement, and compliance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements, while meeting safety and quality performance requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Responsible for day-to-day onsite facilities management for a large government facility program of approximately 1.9 million square feet and 15 acres of property.
- Oversee diverse team of managers, supervisors, technicians, administrative staff, and subcontractors in support of the mission.
- Ability to be on call 24 / 7 / 365 in response to facility emergencies and be on site within one hour of notification.
- Ensure trades staff and subcontractors adhere to management plans and processes, including safety and quality requirements.
- Direct scheduling and completion of preventive maintenance, repairs, and project work.
- Coordinate closely with customer Facility Management points of contact in providing formal and ad hoc reports, scheduling services, sharing program status, and making best practice recommendations.
- Ensure work is completed in compliance with contract requirements, federal and jurisdictional codes and regulations, budgets, and performance standards.
- Resolve conflicts, identified deficiencies, and issues following reporting and corrective action requirements.
- Maintain program documentation and records for code requirements, contract deliverables and plans, training, staff certifications and licenses, and permits.
- Conduct staff training, weekly safety briefings, and quality inspections.
- Provide subcontractor and vendor management, including performance reviews and necessary follow-up actions.
Qualifications :
- The Assistant Project Manager shall be technically qualified in the field of Facility Operations and Management of Federally owned buildings and shall have, as a minimum, five (5) years’ experience in facility operations and maintenance of government-owned buildings, including the supervision of a diversified workforce responsible for 24-hour operations, maintenance, and repair of facilities.
- The APM shall also have working experience with NFPA, EPA, OSHA codes.
- Experience using ServiceNow CMMS is preferred.
- Experience with Safety and Quality Control programs and applicable surveillance methods.
- Strong oral and written communication skills required.
- Completion of OSHA 30 preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Valid Driver’s License.
