The position of Traditional Counselor is to provide behavioral health counseling services, rehabilitation services, case management, and aftercare with individuals and families impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction / substance abuse and mental health) issues.
Position Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year experience, or equivalent education, within the counseling field. If in recovery, prefer two years sobriety.
- Experience with Traditional Yup'ik Healing practices.
- Completed Calicahak and facilitator training.
- First Aide / CPR Certified.
- CPI / Mandt (or equivalent) certified.
- QPR trained.
- Uqisqiun trained.
- Computer, telephone, availability of copy / fax machine, and other organization and work related policies and procedures.
- Bilingual in English and Yup’ik preferred.
- Basic counseling skills and knowledge of rehabilitative services for children and adults who are in need of traditional / cultural counseling services, in both Group and Individual and Family settings.
- Ability to navigate and operate within our eHR (Cerner / Raven) and AK AIMS system.
