Design Consultant Job Description :
Wallauer Design Center, Westchester’s leader in custom window treatments and home décor, is looking for our next design team member as a Design Consultant, specializing in window treatments, drapery, wall coverings and home accessories.
An ideal candidate has an eye for design as well as some experience working with clients in either a sales capacity or design capacity.
Working with urgency and with a variety of different customer and team member personalities is an important part of the job.
This is a sales position, but mostly involves helping homeowners and interior designers select fabrics and wallpaper, and design window treatments.
Design Consultant Job Requirements :
No experience is necessary we will train the right individual who has an eye for design and enjoys working and communicating with people, and possesses the following skills :
- Pay attention to details.
- Be passionate about design and aesthetics.
- Be able to handle pressure and stress.
- Be able to work under a time constraint.
- Have an eye for design and color.
- Be a team player.

Responsibilities of a Design Consultant :
- Greeting customers
- Helping customers find what they are looking for
- Introducing customers to new products
- Solution solving for customer design needs
- Upselling and cross-selling products when appropriate
- Answering questions about products or services
- Coordinating with team members for outstanding customer service
