ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
This position reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and is responsible for reviewing, approving, and advising on a variety of advanced financial transactions.
This position will prepare and reconcile financial transactions, recommend controls and process improvements, troubleshoot advanced financial errors.
This position maintains financial records, provides administrative processing support, and provides customer service for staff and customers in an assigned program area to support program financial management.
Thisposition servesontheDivisionofInformationTechnologyleadershipteam in an advisory role andworks collaboratively with peers and campus stakeholders to provide reliable, secure, and accurate financial information in support of the division and the UW-Green Bay mission.
This position includes the following responsibilities :
- Audits or processes advanced transactions and assigns funding codes in accordance with established rules, regulations, and policies.
- Audits, monitors, organizes, and updates fiscal records, reports, and affiliated materials.
- Answers advanced fiscal questions and provides information based on set materials and standards to various audiences.
- Audits or reconciles original purchase documents with payments.
- Reallocates expenses to appropriate funding strings.
- Reviews transaction processing internal controls and recommends policies and procedures.
- Assists with miscellaneous office duties (e.g. ordering supplies, deliveries, etc.).
- Other dutiesas assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Associate'sdegree orequivalentexperience in accounting, finance or related field
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Computer proficiency with the ability to use spreadsheet, word processing, and accounting software packages (i.e. Microsoft 365 and PeopleSoft).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor'sdegree in accounting, finance or related field
- Experience in a higher education environment
- 2-4 years of experience with accounting and bookkeeping concepts
- Excellent judgement, including sensitivity to personal and confidential information
- Knowledge of UW policies and procedures
- Ability to manage a wide variety of office duties, set priorities, and handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
- Familiar with ITIL best practices
- Ability to understand fairly complex oral and written instructions with analysis, problem solving, and decision-making ability
