JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS :
A PRN clinical therapist is responsible for ensuring they follow through with their commitment to the agency regarding services to clients.
Services PRN Clinical Therapists may do are group therapy, individual therapy, psychosocial assessments for admission, and or ASAMS for admission.
This position is a flexible offering daytime, evening and weekend hours. PRN therapist must be willing to work in either clinical setting at VOA (Men’s Liberty Place program and Women’s Freedom House program).
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE FOR THIS ROLE :
Has a Master’s degree in social work or a related field AND the accompanying clinical license (CSW, LPCA, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LCADC).
AND at least 3 years’ experience in mental health or addictions field this position is therapist for a residential setting that will require some evening and weekend work and / or on-call hours.
Responsible for the overall clinical services to men / women / children / families that may have behavioral health and substance use issues.
It requires a reasonable combination of the following knowledge and skills; Work with Mental Illness and addiction, use of cognitive behavioral therapies and twelve step facilitation skills, use of community resources and ability to serve as an appropriate role model.
Compassion towards people living with behavioral health and substance use issues, and Hepatitis C and HIV / AIDS. Ability to convey respect to the target populations are critical.
Must learn and apply agency, personnel and program policies and procedures. Must have knowledge and understanding of the current treatment modalities and the ability to train and supervise any Social Work Interns.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. To provide assessment / evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of substance use disorders directly to clients of Volunteers of America Mid-States.
2. Provide clinical services as needed to individuals / clients on case load (both individual therapy, family therapy and group therapy sessions)
3. Maintain billing requirements along with understanding of BHSO, AODE and KY Medicaid Regulations
4. Work effectively with referral sources and community partners.
5. To provide assessments, case management and referral services to residents (including substance use, behavioral health, job placement and educational programs) as needed.
6. Document services through current, complete records in compliance with VOA policy regarding timely documentation.
7. To provide crisis counseling on personal, financial, employment, behavioral, crisis and substance abuse matters for residents.
8. Advise other staff on treatment matters and coordinate team treatment as appropriate.
9. Communicate client concerns, needs or updates in a timely manner to program personnel.
10. To monitor and enforce compliance of residents within programs as assigned.
11. To complete initial intakes or continued assessments as assigned.
12. To complete discharge planning as assigned.
13. Maintain a current CPR and First Aid certificate.
14. Other duties assigned.
