Wine & Spirits Sales Representative

Overview :

Come join a dynamic, growing team in a well-established business! Restaurant Depot is looking for a sales rep to grow the Wine & Spirits business in our NY locations.

We need someone who can engage loyal Restaurant Depot customers and convince them to purchase from the Wine & Spirits department.

The ideal candidate needs to be knowledgeable about Wine & Spirits, skilled at building relationships with colleagues and customers, highly organized and able to work independently on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibility : Lead customer sales, both in and outside of the branch

  • Work with branch management and other department leaders to identify best sales leads from among the Restaurant Depot customer base
  • Help customers identify the right products for their needs (particularly critical given our focus on private label products)
  • Conduct customer tastings to demonstrate quality and consumer acceptance (both in the branch and at customers’ establishments)
  • Assist customers to develop wine and cocktail offerings that feature our products
  • Communicate to customers how Restaurant Depot private labels can generate higher profits for their businesses
  • Continually upsell active customers by introducing new products and expanding Restaurant Depot’s portion of their W&S offerings
  • Share selling knowledge with in-store staff

Experience Preferred :

  • Minimum 2 years selling wine and / or spirits, preferably in New York State (applicants with experience in restaurants or retail will also be considered)
  • Experience with restaurants and wine / cocktail lists a plus
  • Knowledge of food pairings
  • Being multi-lingual is a plus

Position Requirements :

  • Have, or be able to acquire, a NYS Solicitor’s license
  • Own a car and have a clean driving record
  • Flexible schedule for customer visits, in-store tastings and staff training
  • Willing to fill-in shifts in NY-area branches, as needed (requires ability to lift up to 45 lbs)
  • High motivation and entrepreneurial spirit

Salary Information : $18.00-$20.00 Per Hour
