Position Summary : The Buyer is an entry level administrative position responsible for supporting the Director of Purchasing by sourcing and ensuring the flow of materials and / or services and data management.
The position requires the ability to learn and develop knowledge and skills to support purchasing activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Manage the administrative functions of the buying process to include supplier relationships, pricing files, verification of invoice accuracy, expediting of materials and other duties as assignedAssist in identifying and researching opportunities for cost savingsSupport the Director of Purchasing on an assortment of analytical and forecasting projectsConfer with suppliers to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, product, and service informationCommunicate with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, price, quality documentation, etcData Analysis associated with supply chain efficiencies such as Quality, Spend and Contract Management, , quality, planning, accounting, and salesAssist with tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectivenessAssist in RFP process, qualification of vendor / items, and the onboarding process for a seamless transition.
Position Requirements2+ years related experience is preferredDemonstrated strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projectsDetail oriented with ability to work independently with minimal directionProficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPointExperience with SAP and / or Microsoft AX a plus
