Position Description Summary :
The Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration (TSPPPA) at The George Washington University (GW) seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position that will start in the Fall of 2025.
This faculty appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position will be in a public administration or public policy field.
We welcome applications from those with expertise or experience related to teaching program evaluation, public budgeting & finance, or research methods.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities : We seek applicants with the potential to establish a sustained program of academic research resulting in a strong publication record as evidenced by scholarly publications or works in progress.
The person hired for this position will sustain strong research and publication records that can serve as a basis for tenure.
They will teach elective and / or required courses and mentor students in our Master of Public Administration (MPA), Master of Public Policy (MPP), Master of Arts in Environmental Sustainability Policy (MA-ESP), and / or Ph.
D. in Public Policy and Public Administration programs. The standard course load is four courses for the academic year for all professors.
Assistant professors are expected to carry a minimal service load that includes service outside and internal to GW. Minimum Qualifications : 1.
Ph.D. in public administration, public policy, or related field (e.g., economics, political science, sociology) by date of appointment or within one semester after appointment.
2. The ability to teach core courses in our public administration (MPA), public policy (MPP), environmental and sustainability policy (MA-ESP), and / or Ph.
D. in Public Policy and Public Administration programs.3. Potential to establish a sustained program of academic research resulting in a strong publication record as evidenced by scholarly publications or works in progress.
Advertised Salary : $92,000 - $105,000 Other Benefits : Other Information : Candidates who will complete their Ph.D. after the date of appointment will be initially appointed as an Instructor until completion of their Ph.D.
