POSITION SUMMARY The Credentials Specialist position is primarily responsible for facilitating all requests for initial appointment and / or clinical privileges, re-appointments of physicians and allied health practitioners in a time frame complaint with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Credentials Manual Policies and Procedures, TJC Accreditation Standards, Federal and State requirements.
This position interfaces with medical staff leadership and administration in the evaluation and approval process of these practitioners.
Provides support to the Provider Enrollment Specialist during credentialing / audits of providers with third party payors;
back up to the Medical Staff Services Manager in management of medical staff committee meetings, department meetings, and other duties as requested.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Licenses and Certifications Required Membership in NAMMS preferred CPCS preferred Educational Requirements High School Diploma Related college or technical school courses recommended Experience Requirements Sufficient previous office experience with at least two years experience in a health care environment preferred Special Skills or Training Requirements Microsoft Office Suite Keyboarding Skills at 60+ wpm Excellent communication skills Self sufficient independent thinker
