Job Summary : The System Director, Decision Support leads financial analysis and consulting to support health system management in strategic and operational decision making.
This role proactively develops, interprets, and implements solutions with a focus on improving processes using innovative ideas and techniques.
Minimum Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field. Licensure, Registration and / or Certification : None.
Work Experience : Minimum 8 years of related experience. Prior Workday or Epic experience, preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Demonstrated ability to present information to diverse groups, support findings, and collaboratively drive change based on organizational goals and strategic objectives.
Analytical, statistical, and mathematical skills to conduct quantitative analysis with a high degree of accuracy. Skills to assimilate data sets to develop findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
Ability to use critical things skills to recognize opportunities, report on the financial impact of proposed actions and work with leadership to develop appropriate business strategies.
Ability to think swiftly and analyze implications of changes in processes and operations within the health system. Advanced Excel skills.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities : Prepares and presents financial analysis to senior management to enhance decision making, new programs, programs expansion, and / or capital acquisition including breakeven analysis and financial pro forma analysis.
Serves as financial / business consultant to managers, directors, and vice presidents for projects being considered by Saint Francis Health System (SFHS).
Analyzes and prepares ongoing statistical information to evaluate the health system's performance. Directs and coordinates all projects with other members of decision support team to ensure timely completion.
Monitors system performance and security, identifies potential issues and implements corrective actions promptly. Utilizes a system approach to provide leadership for intradepartmental activities and problem resolution.
Directs activities that promote developing, implementing, and evaluating the strategic plan for the health system. Assists with month and year end financial reports, budgeting, development and monitoring or labor productivity standards.
Directs the reporting initiatives associated with financial projections / proformas and oversees the creation of supporting documentation and submissions to senior leadership.
Serves as chargemaster for the system and directs the revenue integrity activities and analysts within that function. Serves as a partner and financial resource to operational leaders.
Decision Making : The carrying out of non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from a supervisor.
Working Relationships : Direct supervision of others. Prepares and gives performance evaluations. Works directly with patients and / or customers.
Works with internal and / or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
