Solar Principal Engineer (onsite)

Estimated Duration : 12 months with possible extensions.

Work Setting : 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the Client.

Required :

• Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Juno Beach, FL (required);
• Expertise in two or more of the following areas :
• Solar photovoltaic design;
• Battery storage system design;
• Geospatial data analysis and forecasting;
• AI applications in renewable energy;
• Proven analytical capabilities in two or more of the following areas :
• Creating models, performing statistical analysis, and optimizing system performance;
• Designing and developing machine learning and deep learning systems;
• Solar resource assessment;
• Optimal solar and storage sizing;
• Show maturity of technical expertise and assume responsibility for highly specialized technical objectives;
• One of the following education and experience combinations :
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field from an ABET-accredited program with 5+ years of proven experience;

or a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field with 3+ years of proven experience.

Preferred :

PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field (0-2 years of proven experience).

Responsibilities :

• Subject matter expert (SME) of innovation in assigned subject areas;
• Manage small to medium-level projects without direct reports;
• Communicate technical concepts to stakeholders and provide data-driven recommendations;
• Maintain familiarity with industry and company progress and problems in assigned technical areas;
• Research, develop, and implement appropriate ML algorithms and tools to optimize the performance and design of renewable energy systems;
• Collaborate and lead with national and international industry subject matter experts;
• Engage with the research community and technology developers to guide and inform technology development targets.
