We are seeking an experienced Workers Compensation Billing Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in billing processes and extensive knowledge of the appeals process across multiple states.

As the Workers Compensation Billing Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing, managing appeals efficiently, and maintaining compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee all aspects of workers' compensation billing processes, including invoicing, coding, and reconciliation.
  • Develop and implement effective billing strategies to optimize revenue generation and minimize errors.
  • Stay up-to-date with state regulations and compliance requirements related to workers' compensation billing.
  • Lead the appeals process for denied claims, working closely with insurance carriers, attorneys, and other stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including claims management and finance, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff members on billing procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate billing performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management to communicate billing trends, challenges, and opportunities.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in workers' compensation billing, with a focus on multi-state billing and appeals.
  • Experience billing Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is highly desirable.
  • In-depth understanding of workers' compensation regulations and compliance requirements across multiple states.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify billing discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is a plus.
  • Leadership experience preferred, with a track record of managing teams and driving results.
