Job Description

HR and Safety Coordinator

Ultimate Staffing is working with an established company in the manufacturing sector seeking a full time HR and Safety Coordinator to join their team near Columbia, MD.

Hybrid work schedule - 4 days in the office

Salary : $55,000 - $63,000

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM

Key Responsibilities :

HR Responsibilities :

  • Manage full life-cycle talent acquisition, including sourcing, screening, scheduling, and interviewing candidates.
  • Oversee the pre-employment process, including drug screenings, background checks, and reference checks.
  • Conduct new employee orientations and manage the full onboarding process, ensuring all training and documentation are completed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with staff at all levels, ensuring new employees integrate effectively into the organization.
  • Ensure all employee paperwork is compliant, filed, and maintained within the HRIS system.
  • Ensure that all timecards have been accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner.

Safety Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
  • Prepare and conduct educational training sessions and webinars regularly.
  • Review and update existing safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of talent acquisition experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR software applications.
  • At least one year of experience with an HRIS system (Paycom preferred).
  • Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards.
