Compensation : $55,000 - $65000

Responsibilities of the Accounting Specialist

• Maintain financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Manage and review AP transactions for correct categorization and GAAP compliance.
• Prepare accurate and timely wholesale invoices; coordinate with sales and vault teams as needed.
• Create weekly reports for past-due Accounts Receivable and follow up with customers to collect outstanding balances.
• Ensure revenue, cost of sales, and expenses are accurately recorded according to IRS 280E.
• Assist with payroll processing, month-end close, and financial reporting processes.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal wage and hour laws (including overtime, holiday pay, income withholdings, etc.).
• Provide benefits administration support to the Controller.

Preferred Requirements of the Accounting Specialist

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 1-2 years of accounting experience with strong attention to detail.
• Industry experience in agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, or retail is preferred; cannabis industry experience is a plus.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Suite.
