Job Purpose :
An Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing installation, alteration, addition, and repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials on construction projects.
He must mentor, manage and develop all Journeyman and Foreman.
Reports at weekly staffing meetings with Ownership and Project Management to report field project status.
Responsibilities :
- Managing subcontractors, schedules and safety
- Coordinate between clients, subs, foreman, architects, engineers and city inspectors.
- Supervise large crew efficiently
- Calculate the material and labor needed to perform the job
- Approve timesheets, change orders requests, time and material sheets, accident reports, and other paperwork as required
- Helps promote ALBD vision with field staff and clients.
- Communicate with the foreman, superintendents, project managers, office personnel, or any other person related to the project.
- Working knowledge of electrical principles, and codes.
- The ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints.
- Assisting in moving heavy electrical equipment.
- Working on extension ladders, scaffolds, and scissor lifts (possibly up to 100 feet)
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times while on the job site.
- Point of contact for general contractor’s field superintendent
- Possess complete knowledge of all drawings, specifications, construction schedules, electrical equipment submittals, and mechanical equipment submittals.
- Responsible for managing and training all job site field personnel
- Responsible for providing and establishing a safe workplace for all employees onsite.
- Responsible for the complete field execution of the construction and performance of the electrical contract work
- Responsible for tracking job site materials and tools
- Responsible for scheduling and conducting all job site inspections, testing, and owner training
- Promote company reputation
- Installing electrical equipment designed on engineered drawings.
- Must be able to work hours necessary to achieve job goals including weekends if need be.
Education, Skills, and Experience :
- 15 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN ELECTRICAL FIELD
- 15 years of commercial / industrial / construction / electrical experience
- 10 years experience as an electrical Foreman
- Minimum 10 years experience with Dry Utility new construction projects
- 10 years experience with various lighting control systems.
- Experience managing multiple crews of 5-15+ electricians
- Valid CA General Electrician Certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Reliable transportation
- Valid Driver License
- Fluent in speaking and writing in English
- Proficient in computer knowledge and ability to navigate in Outlook, Excel and Procore
- Availability to work weekends as needed.
- OSHA 30 Card
- Good interaction skills with the ability to work as a team
- Great attitude
