Position Overview

AITC is looking for an experienced Electronic Tech Maintenance II professional to support the Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) Maintenance Program (ATMP) Contract.

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Perform all functions required to maintain and repair electronic TADSS and equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance IAW technical guidelines and equipment specifications ensuring proper
  • functionality and safe operating conditions
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve routine electrical, mechanical, and computer issues by interpreting.
  • manufacturers' manuals or similar documents
  • Perform inventory of spare / repair parts IAW contractual guidelines
  • Enter work order data in a timely and accurate manner into the management information system
  • Apply basic and advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems
  • May supervise, provide direction / guidance, and check lower-level technicians' work
  • Ensure that all paperwork and reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings and diagrams required to perform maintenance
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • May require travel to other installations and other ATMP locations throughout CONUS and OCONUS

Minimum Requirements

  • 2 - 5 years' experience with electronics testing / troubleshooting
  • Intermediate computer and networking skills
  • Working knowledge of Cisco, Microsoft and Linux OS experience required
  • Valid driver's license and On-Post driving privileges required
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required IAW appropriate OSHA standards
  • Work independently and as part of a team

Preferred skills & knowledge

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer service and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • Experience utilizing test equipment to include torque wrenches, volt / micrometers, network cable crimping / testers and solder stations to support repairs

Physical Demands

  • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally and walk short distances.
  • Able to move between hangers on foot to access the training devices.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as : preparing and analyzing data and figures;

transcribing : viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading.

  • Must be able to lift 20-30 lbs. overhead, climb 6-10 ft. ladders (with appropriate safety gear)
  • The worker is required to have strong hand-eye coordination and proficiency in using tools like soldering equipment.
