JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE : PCA PSYCHOLOGIST - OAPS

DEFINITION : Reporting to the Director of Older Adult Protective Services, this position is responsible for providing a variety of psychological services, including psychological and when appropriate, neurological assessment of LTC consumers, expert testimony in legal proceedings, consultation to LTC direct service staff, and delivery of professional development activities.

Psychological assessments will be performed in the home and other settings.

QUALIFICATIONS : Education :

Education :

Ph.D or Psy.D in Clinical Psychology from an APA approved doctorial program.

Experience :

Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of post-doctorial clinical practice experience, including experience in working with an older adult / geriatric population.

Knowledge and Skills :

  • Demonstrated knowledge of psychological and neuropsychological assessment techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health needs of older adults.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health resource network and systems, including public and private sectors.

Professional Licensure / Certification :

Licensure as a Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Additional Requirements :

  • Valid driver's license, good driving record and access to a fully insured car.
  • Drug testing.
  • Criminal history clearance.

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS :

  • Performs psychological and neurological evaluations of LTC consumers.
  • Prepares written reports of consumer evaluations.
  • Provides expert testimony at legal proceedings.
  • Conducts field visits to perform duties, including private homes and other settings.
  • Provides consultation to LTC staff regarding behavioral health needs of consumers.
  • Coordinates and / or designs and conducts staff training on behavioral health matters.
  • Collaborates with other PCA departments, including Planning, Research, Legal and others in support of LTC and agency-wide initiatives.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS :

  • Completes assignments in a timely manner, including evaluations and written reports.
  • Provides articulate professionally sound testimony and consultation in legal matters.
  • Contributes to effectiveness and efficiency in guardianship petitions / proceedings.
  • Supports and promotes improvements in LTC behavioral health training and direct service interventions.

SALARY $79,230.69 - $91,719.43
