GCI's Marketing Specialist I will participate and support the Marketing Team promoting GCI products and services. Promote a positive relationship assisting with general product and promotional information.

Manage internal and external relationships to carefully take each project to market with success from conception to completion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS :

Essential duties and responsibilities are assigned per the addendum(s) if specific focus area.

Digital Marketing

Focus of position :

The Digital Marketing Focus Area functions as coordination and support of GCI’s digital marketing channels including website, email, social media, and more.

This role requires an individual with a creative yet analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and strong organization skills.

This role will be responsible for drafting, coordinating, and executing webpages, emails, and other marketing efforts across various digital channels while using analytical tools to measure and report on their success.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Develop and coordinate website, email, and text marketing campaigns.
  • Use basic graphic design skills to develop or edit marketing creative.
  • Measure and track various digital marketing success metrics.
  • Support website maintenance and quality assurance efforts.
  • Stay current on developments and trends in digital media.
  • Work with team members in diverse groups to ensure a consistent and premier digital experience.

Business Marketing

Focus of position :

The Business Marketing Focus Area functions as a program coordinator for all projects within the business (B2B) marketing group.

The role requires a clear communicator, strategic thinker, and creative problem solver who connects all aspects of the business to drive growth and opportunities.

A high level of attention to detail and organization is a must in the fast-paced marketing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring effective communication of project status and deliverables to all stakeholders.

This role also functions as the lead on various marketing channels.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Develop and coordinate B2B multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Work with the marketing team to plan, promote, and coordinate industry events.
  • Collect content, carefully proof, and edit copy, ensure adherence to GCI brand standards, and route to stakeholders.
  • Collect and report competitive information related to B2B offers and products in market.
  • Collect and organize creative assets to support marketing campaigns and distribute or publish them across multiple channels.
  • Leverage project management software to track and document marketing campaigns, events, product launches, and other activities.
  • Schedule, maintain, and own channels to include bill messaging, text message marketing, on hold messages.
  • Coordinate and support business product focused customer communications.
  • Coordinate and support internal business marketing communications.

Product Marketing

Focus of position :

The role requires a strategic thinker who helps develop consumer products and promotions to drive growth and opportunities.

A high level of attention to detail and organization is a must in the fast-paced marketing environment.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Proactively keep abreast of competitor marketing, product offerings, promotions, and industry trends
  • Collect and organize data to inform marketing campaigns and product development.
  • Leverage project management software to document product launches, campaigns, promotions, and deliverables, adapting timelines as needed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Development of strategic plan deliverables including some or all the following :
  • Online research
  • Data analysis
  • Objective planning
  • Formal presentations
  • Aid in developing campaign briefs and communicating strategic objectives to internal team members to ensure projects are completed in alignment with strategy.
  • Report on key metrics, analyzing and interpreting trends and providing actionable insights based on available analytics data.
  • Develop unique strategies and build upon current strategies to meet / exceed objectives.
  • Perform ROI analysis to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of different marketing campaigns.
  • Establish consistent communication with sales to gather feedback, deliver updates and ensure our sales teams have the tools they need.

Campaign Marketing

Focus of position :

The Campaign Marketing Focus Area functions as coordination and support for GCI advertising and communication efforts. The role requires a creative thinker with excellent communication skills who will help bring marketing strategies to market in the most compelling way possible.

A high level of attention to detail and organization is a must in the fast-paced marketing environment.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Stay abreast of social media marketing trends and support overall social media marketing efforts.
  • Aid in copywriting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review various marketing collateral for content proofing.
  • Execute event plans and coordinate all involved pieces.
  • Use basic graphic design skills to develop or edit marketing creative.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing support vendors and coordinate deliverables.
  • Measure and track various marketing success metrics.
  • Support overall website, email marketing, and text marketing efforts.
  • Coordinate, track, and distribute marketing inventory items.

Marketing Communications

Focus of position :

The Marketing Communications Focus Area functions primarily as a marketing writer, content producer, and communications coordinator.

This role requires an individual with exceptional writing skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong organization.

This role will be responsible for drafting, coordinating, and executing marketing communications across various marketing channels.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Draft copy, coordinate reviews / approvals, and adjust content accordingly for marketing communications.
  • Coordinate all customer notifications according to process and timelines.
  • Support team members in ensuring consistent voice across marketing channels.
  • Support scripting and recording of audio clips for phone system implementation.
  • Support management of radio partnerships through quality checks for brand voice and tone, accurate promotions, and listener engagement opportunities.
  • Support digital platforms through content development of emails, social media, and website landing pages, optimized for open rates and search rankings.
  • Adhere to the company’s style guide, ensuring that we produce high-quality and error-free copy.
  • Edit and proofread marketing materials such as brochures, postcards, and advertisements.
  • Support measurement and results of communication campaigns.

Experience in marketing project coordination.

Level Definition

Position Title : Marketing Specialist I

Grade : A07

Additional Job Requirements :

This is an entry level position within the marketing specialist team. Works under close supervision conducting work assignments as directed.

Must have a basic knowledge of marketing initiatives, the company’s product line and sales programs.

Minimum Qualifications :

Required : *A combination of relevant work experience and / or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years in a customer service, office administrative, or marketing environment. *

Preferred :

  • Experience within a telecommunications customer product line environment.
  • Associate degree in relevant field.
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
  • Experience with marketing automation and project management tools.
  • Experience with content publishing through online portals, such as WordPress.
  • Other relevant telecom industry or job specific certifications.

Required at ALL Levels

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS :

This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations throughout Southcentral Alaska.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS :

  • Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.
  • Work entails long periods of time in front of a computer screen and on video calls.
  • Work entails the ability to maneuver up to 20 pounds.
  • Work entails dealing with upset customers and / or employees at times.
  • Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office / home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.
  • Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.
  • Ability to make valid judgments and decisions.
  • Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary.
  • Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers.
  • Virtual workers must comply with remote work policies and agreements.

The company and its subsidiaries operate in a 24 / 7 environment providing critical services to Alaskans and may need to respond to public health and safety matters or other business emergencies.

Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the core business hours to respond to the immediate emergency.
