POSITION SUMMARY Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services, within the scope of the nursing assistant and as delegated by the registered nurse, to patients admitted at Riverwood Health Care Center.
This position provides care for or assistance to patients of all ages, including newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED, and successful completion of NAR. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Current NA Registration from the Minnesota State Board of Nursing.
Current certification in BLS or ability to obtain during orientation.#EMT certification a plus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES # RESPONSIBILITIES Provides safe patient care by maintaining a safe work environment and reporting near miss or actual incidents.
Provides 1 : 1 Observation as assigned. Manages the desk area by transferring calls, answering phones, answering call lights, and paging per request.
Documents in medical record, graphic sheet, and flow sheets according to Policy and Procedure, and reports significant changes to the RN.
Reports pertinent changes in patient condition to team members and charge nurse. Provides basic patient care such as assistance with ADL#s, vital signs, glucose monitoring, etc.
Applies oxygen as directed by the RN. Assists patients with nutritional needs by serving, setting up trays, and feeding as needed.
Monitors and records accurate intake and output. Transports patients and assists patients with ambulation. Assists with treatments such as ice packs, warm packs, etc.
Assists with collection and transport of lab specimens. Restocks supplies as needed and per shift requirement.# Manages clean and soiled utility room.
Safeguards security and confidentiality of data / information according to HIPAA guidelines. Assists with discharge by gathering patient belongings and assisting patient to vehicle.
Assumes responsibility for self-development and completion of mandatory educational requirements. Enhances customer service by demonstrating polite, cooperative, and respectful behavior to internal and external customers.
Carries out duties safely and uses safety devices provided to protect self and others.#Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
