PositionOverview :
Siemens Mobility Customer Service seeks tohire a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and dedicated Service EngineeringProject Manager (EPM) to lead the engineering support services for a fleet ofour Charger Locomotives and Venture Coaches.
The EPM leads the projectengineering team through the mobilization and execution phase of ourmaintenance contract and is responsible for ensuring that all engineeringrequirements from the customer contract are met.
This role reports to the Service EngineeringManager, who provides functional supervision and sets achievable targets. Theincumbent will have broad autonomy to reach the result.
The EPM is fullyresponsible for all maintenance engineering deliverables of the Service Projectand will be based in a hybrid role in Chicago, IL.
What yourday-to-day will look like :
- Work closely withthe project management team, the customer, internal and supplier engineeringteams to ensure all engineering requirements are clarified and delivered onschedule and with the expected quality.
- Drive the projecttimeline for service mobilization, maintenance plans, service materialdefinition, and acceptance.
- Drive continuousupdates to the customer documentation (e.g., maintenance documentation, sparepart’s catalog, work instructions, special tools’ documentation.)
- Manage theresolution of project obsolescence issues in coordination with the obsolescencemanager and system engineers.
- Work withreliability managers, field service and system engineers to drive resolution offleet reliability issues (root cause analysis to completion of modificationdesign).
- Monitor thedelivery of all service engineering tasks and take appropriate actions toensure resources are available and on schedule.
- The EPM isaccountable for delivery of all service engineering tasks in a timely andefficient manner.
To thrive inthis role, you have :
- Bachelor’s degreein Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering. In lieu of Bachelor’sdegree, a combination of education and Siemens relevant work experience inrolling stock will be considered.
- Working knowledgeof maintenance management and familiarity with the locomotive industry,equipment, technology, and regulatory obligations.
- PMP Certificationor other project management methodology and terminology body of knowledge.
- Setting you apartfrom others would be a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of EPMexperience within the rail industry with PMP certification and fluency inGerman.
