Position Information Job Title Assistant Professor of Biology Position Number Department Biology Salary Depends on qualifications Job Summary / Description Teach undergraduate and graduate biology courses and labs with special emphasis on Mammalogy.
Typical Duties / Job Duties Develop and conduct research with undergraduate and graduate students. Advise students, recruit and retain students, participate in curricular design, grade student work and projects, engage in research activities, participate in department, college, and University service.
Teach other departmental service courses as assigned (e.g., Introductory Biology, Zoology, Evolution, Genetics, Cell Biology).
Responsible for curation and growth of the mammal collection in the Angelo State Natural History Collection. Be willing to teach online courses as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Applicants should be dedicated to excellence in teaching and willing to offer courses in a variety of formats.
- Applicants should also be dedicated to helping ASU students succeed, particularly first generation college students.
- Collegiality and the ability to collaborate with other biology faculty in both research and service are also expected.
