Job Description
The Staff Development Coordinator provides, plans, coordinates, and manages orientation and in-service education for facility employees.
The coordinator also serves as the Infection Prevention / Control Coordinator, designing systems and approving actions to prevent / control and monitor reports of infections and / or potential infections among residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- Assess learning needs and design in-service and continuing ed programs based on quality assurance data
- Develop, implement, communicate, and evaluate annual training plan
- Develop specific teaching plans and programs to cover training needs for all roles
- Work with the Director of Nursing to ensure quality care is held to highest standard
- On call
Qualifications
- Must hold current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse
- Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required
- Background / training in infection control preferred
- Current CPR certificate desired
