Job Summary :
The IT Support Specialist monitors and maintains the company computer systems, installs and configures hardware and software, and solves technical issues as they arise.
The IT Support Specialist maintains our network, provides technical support, and ensures the company’s technology runs smoothly.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Perform basic troubleshooting and upgrades for workstations, servers, printers, and phones for local office and two branch offices.
Occasional travel to branch offices in Pocatello and Lewiston. Maintain IT presence and visibility at all of the organization’s facilities through regular site visits (independent of support requests).
- Provide local support for our Feeding America remote Service Desk.
- Order computers, network equipment and software, and maintain database for accurately tracking for licensing compliance.
Image computer equipment and install hardware and software for end users. Setup of equipment and onboarding for new employees.
- Work closely with network vendor on software upgrades and computer images. Provides timely problem resolution either singly or in partnership with outside computer, copier, and telecommunications consultants.
- Maintain and support the primary business applications which includes Office 365, AnyConnect, Remote Desktop, Dynamics 365, Windows, SharePoint.
- Maintain IT fixed asset list for all equipment such as computers, phones, monitors, printers etc.
- Oversee the implementation, deployment and operation of information systems and technology solutions for business needs.
- Educate coworkers about network security and best practices for computer usage.
- Communicate and respond to end users to ensure the highest level of customer service
- Provide network security solutions and recommendations and provide peer training on network security issues.
- Improve document management systems and maximize organizational software usage.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- BS in Information Technology field or similar (Preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years computer and basic network support experience.
- Cybersecurity or IT security : 3 years (Preferred)
- Requires excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong knowledge of common Information Technology issues including hardware and software applications such as Office 365, Azure and Active Directory.
- SharePoint administration experience a plus. Growth opportunities for SharePoint and Cisco Certification after 12 months of employment.
- Must possess strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills and have the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
- Organized, self-starter is a must.
- Keep privileged / confidential information in the strictest of confidence.
- Ability to explain technical information to nontechnical team members.
- Support system and data security.
- Perform regular maintenance and audits.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of basic network concepts and structure, including DHCP, DNS, etc. a plus.
Working Conditions
This work is performed primarily in an office environment while sitting at a computer terminal for extended periods of time.
May involve periodic lifting and carrying of items that may weigh up to 50 pounds. May work outside normal working hours and drive own vehicle for various projects on a daily basis.
