About this role
Responsible for desktop infrastructure support, packaging, and the implementation of new software and hardware. Determines settings in Active Directory and writes and executes scripts.
Plans, research, tests, and implements software and system applications. Serves as a team lead for technical projects. Functions in an on-call capacity in response to hardware, software and systems repair needs during normal business hours or instances where the college is closed.
What a day of a Systems Administrator looks like :
Installs and configures Windows and MacOS software and hardware. Manages, deploys, and configures hardware upgrades, software updates, security patches and other necessary items on an as-needed basis.
Creates, develops, maintains, and deploys enterprise Windows and MacOS images.
Manages JAMF Pro management platform, including Apple DEP, and VPP consoles.
Acts as tier 3 support, working directly with the tier 2 support and end users. Interfaces directly with the IT Service Desk and support technicians to resolve and document hardware and software troubleshooting tickets, bug reports and errors.
Troubleshoot issues and outages, and provides immediate, direct customer support and troubleshooting help to end users utilizing a variety of communication methods.
Performs daily system monitoring and backup procedures to ensure data security, availability and integrity of required resources, and proper recording of application logs and reviews.
Collaborates with various managers and other IT personnel to improve existing processes, increase automation, and meet product development goals.
Interacts with vendors, contractors, and other departments to convey technical project requirements and verify specifications.
Manages basic active directory tasks such as account creation, OU structure creation, group policy, login scripts, and general health of directory structure.
Functions in an on-call capacity in response to hardware, software and systems repair needed during normal business hours or instances where the college is closed.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience :
Associate’s degree or two years of college coursework equivalent to an associate degree
Four years of related experience
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining desktops, laptops, mobile devices and providing customer service
Experience with desktop management systems in a mixed environment, Mac OS X and Windows operating systems support and deploying applications physically and virtually
Experience with Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group policy
Knowledge of :
Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications
Microsoft Active Directory users and computer administration, password resets, modifying permissions
Microsoft O365 technologies
SCCM and Intune in a hybrid co-managed configuration
Mac OSX and iOS administration, and Windows Desktops
Basic knowledge of network switching and troubleshooting
Skilled in :
Fact-finding and data analysis
Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
Ability to :
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations and take responsibility for a high level of service
Install and troubleshoot PC hardware and software
Install and troubleshoot Mac OSX, iOS, and MS Windows operating system

The minimum base pay for this position starts at $51,197.00 annually; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate’s education and experience.
