DuPont has an exciting opportunity for a TSR (Technical Service Representative) for our Automotive Adhesives business. This job will provide in plant technical support for new and existing adhesives and capitalize on additional value growth opportunities at our OEM and tier customer assembly plants.
The goal is to follow our products from lab to launch. This could include offering product, process, quality, or organization assistance.
At times, it may be necessary to use skills for problem identification and resolution. There will be interaction, on cross functional teams, within DuPont (R&D, TS&D, commercial, customer service, manufacturing, etc.
and at our customer. Proactive communication and recurrent on-site visits are expected. Strong team work, building professional relationships, and technical credibility is essential.
Key roles and responsibilities :
This person will be focused on BETA™ adhesive bonding technologies, substrates, processes, and applications for automotive OEM customers and tiers.
The candidate must have the ability to learn and share knowledge of the current and future adhesives. Work will be done with internal personnel and external customers to evaluate current and future products and projects with a goal of launching to the marketplace.
Goals will be tied to the business strategy. Understanding of competitive landscape and products will be necessary.
When a problem arises, this person may be asked to provide solutions and determine next steps. This person will be asked to participate in troubleshooting field problems (application, downtime, recharges) and to lead or be a participant in formal Root Cause Investigations.
The individual may utilize their knowledge toward preventing future problems by helping develop FMEA’s (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
This person will have customer exposure in the form of testing, meetings, training, and trials. Meetings will be on the phone or on site to ensure things are running at the plant level.
Customers must be advised on how the products work, process, application, storage, and handling. It may be necessary to identify ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the current products, processes, or services (keeping track of vehicles, products, launches).
Internally, the candidate may be able to help DuPont manufacturing based on customer feedback. Work, will be done, with dispense application companies and other automotive vendors as well.
This person will become familiar with the quality system and show engagement in site safety programs.
Main requirements :
- A Bachelor's degree in a Science related field is preferred. A mechanical aptitude, with a hands on approach, would be a benefit.
- Relevant automotive customer experience. Understanding of equipment, knowledge of automotive assembly process. Previous work experience in an industrial environment preferred.
- It’s a requirement, to live, in a southern US location. The job will be a combination of working from home and visiting our customers located in the southern US.
The customer base may be expanded with time.
Able to travel 75% of the time, especially as the candidate is learning the job. Most travel will be by automobile, but it may require domestic flights during the month.
Overtime may be necessary if the project warrants it.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must have strong organization, multi-tasking, problem solving, and time management skills.
Able to work independently and take initiative. Must be able to work in pressure situations. Respond and react to changing priorities and adhere to timelines.
