Position Overview : You will be overseeing project design progression from inception to completion including design, 3D coordination, permits, as-builts and operations and maintenance manuals.

This position will develop a comprehensive design plan to meet schedules and budgets and participate in team and on-site progress meetings.

Understand and follow all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications. This role will be reporting and working out of the greater Chicago area.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design fire alarm systems that meet all applicable building and fire codes.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to clients for existing fire alarm systems.
  • Develop detailed system drawings and schematics that clearly illustrate the connections between components, utilizing AutoCAD.
  • Calculate component loads and verify that they are within safe operating levels.
  • Work with low voltage wiring and fire alarm panels.

Qualifications :

  • Previous experience designing fire alarms, all years of experience welcomed to apply.
  • NICET certification desired, not required.
  • Working knowledge of building and fire codes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Based in the greater Chicago area.
