Job Description
Role and Responsibilities : (Includes but is not limited to the following)
1. Responsible for reaching room nights and revenue goals.
2. Daily responsibilities include sales calls, writing proposals, negotiating contracts, closing business deals, entertain clients, conduct site inspections and attend trade shows.
3. Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers.
4. Create a comprehensive strategic and tactical sales and marketing plan.
5. Monitor lost business and comp reports.
6. Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Performance Requirements : (Knowledge, skills and abilities)
1. Excellent customer relations skills
2. Able to travel (as necessary)
3. Develop strategic plan or responsible market segments to develop lead opportunities
4. Strong time management skills and ability to delegate and handle multiple priorities. - Knowledge of Delphi is preferred and proficiency in the use of Word & Excel.
Experience working with strategic partners Helmsbriscoe, conference direct and other strategic market segments.
Typical physical / mental demands :
Able to conduct sales tours throughout the hotel and convention center. May be required to stand for long periods of time at tradeshows and receptions.
Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced (sometimes high pressure) sales office and excel in achieving deadlines and goals.
Typical Working Condition :
Ability to work independently in an office environment, entertain clients when necessary, and conduct site tours of the hotel.
Experience Requirements :
Minimum of three (3)+ years of Hotel Sales experience.*
Education Requirements :
College degree (may substitute additional experience in lieu of degree).*
