Brown & Brown is seeking an Account Executive for its Employee Benefits team in Sarasota, Florida.
Individual who provides support to employee benefit lines by maintaining, expanding, and servicing assigned accounts.
What You’ll Do
- New Business marketing including, but not limited to rating and quoting employee benefit lines.
- Spend approximately 25-50% of the time outside of the office with clients.
- Renewal marketing including, but not limited to rating and quoting assigned employee benefit accounts.
- New Business & Renewal Underwriting including, but not limited to gathering missing enrollment information and all underwriting status follow up.
- Work directly with group administrators to assist and educate on the proper administration procedures, State & Federal COBRA, additions & termination, and all other administrative procedures.
- Assist employees with unresolved claim issues while educating them on the claims processing system.
- Process daily mail, including faxes and e-mail, for assigned accounts.
- Answer and process all telephone requests for assigned accounts.
- Enter all required data into the system to maintain current file data on all assigned accounts.
- Maintain & annually update account files.
- Maintain suspense or follow-up system for correspondence / requests.
- Provide back-up to other Account Executives as assigned.
- Maintain expiration records.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with the various company marketing representatives and underwriters.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the various carriers’ rating plans and programs.
- Maintain favorable relationships with clients, producers, and employees.
- Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of employee benefit lines of coverage and rating.
- Perform clerical functions including, but not limited to submitting and sending faxes, proofreading, and photocopying documents.
What You’ll Need
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Resident Health & Life (Including Annuities & Variable Contracts (2-15).
- Strong technical knowledge of coverage in all employee benefits insurance coverage.
Preferred
- 4 year college degree.
- 5+ years industry experience.
