The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School Of Medicine is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible physicians in Urology.

They will participate in scholarly activity, faculty development, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, prepare and provide didactics, participate in the evaluation of the residents and medical students, develop programs and preparation forCLER and RRC site visits.

While previous experience in a residency program teaching role is preferred, individuals just finishing residency / fellowship training are highly encouraged to apply.

Faculty are expected to administer and maintain a professional educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competencies and in assisting them to reach their individual Milestones, plus educating medical students in the practice of Urology.

Minimum Qualifications Board Certified or Board eligible in Urology, MD, DO or equivalent degree from an accredited institution and licensed in the State of Texas.

Discipline Specific Required Qualifications Completion of an ACGME accredited urology residency training program and Certified by the American Board of Urology.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in educating general surgery residents in a GMEProgram and medical students in an accredited medical school.

This position is security sensitiveand thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code 51.. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System ofTexas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least days in length.

This position has the option to elect the Optional RetirementProgram (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per weekand at least days in length.
