Job Description
- The Functional Senior Business Analyst acts as the liaison between division staff and the vendor; facilitate / chair workgroups to maintain system design documents;
- ensures deadlines are met; review system design documentation for compliance with procedures, policies, regulations and standards have been applied / maintained;
- make recommendations to management for improving and / or maintaining effective information analysis support for the organization;
assist with user acceptance testing.
Additional duties to include :
- Review system documentation and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with procedures, regulations and standards.
- Coordinate and participate in operational releases.
- Facilitate / Chair work groups, teams, and / or meetings. Creates a positive environment, evaluates group processes, recommends solutions or alternatives, etc.
- Conduct detailed research of intended subject matter according to Division needs.
- Review and / or inspect work for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Research and recommend system enhancements to better meet customer needs.
- Perform activities which may include : the utilization of SharePoint and other computer software programs to store data, retrieve stored data, analyze retrieved data, and arrange results in aformat that effectively supports Medicaid’s production activities;
and helps identify better ways to utilize the system's capabilities.
- Monitor and evaluate operations, programs, processes and / or practices for quality and effectiveness.
- Utilize MS Word, Excel and Visio to create documents and reports.
- Review and perform user acceptance testing.
Note : as of April 8, 2024, DHHS employees will be working a hybrid schedule, which includes 2 office days per week and 3 telework days.

- Effective July 1, 2021, State of Utah Employees must either reside in Utah or be in the process of relocating to within 30 days of their start date.
- This position may currently be a hybrid of both in-office and remote work days. Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion, at any time and for any reason.
- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending;
