We are seeking to fill the position of a Project Accountant in Newport Beach, California. This role operates within the construction industry, focusing on managing financial aspects of construction projects.
The Project Accountant will work in collaboration with various stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, and finance department personnel.
This job offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee the financial management of assigned construction projects, including budget creation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Implement cost tracking and reporting systems to maintain accurate records of project expenditures.
- Regularly prepare and submit financial summaries, cost reports, and forecasts for project managers and senior management.
- Review, approve, and process subcontractor and vendor invoices in alignment with contract terms.
- Ensure proper documentation and approval for all project-related payments, and track progress against budgeted amounts.
- Review and ensure compliance with contract terms, including change orders, contract amendments, and cost adjustments.
- Assist with the final project closeout process, ensuring all financial records are accurate and all billing, change orders, and final payments are completed.
- Ensure all project financials comply with company policies, industry standards, and relevant legal or regulatory requirements.
- Participate in audits as required and provide requested documentation related to project finances.
- Serve as the financial liaison between the project team, finance department, and upper management, providing financial insights and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
- Experience with ADP - Financial Services
- Familiarity with Costpoint software
- Proficiency in Deltek and Deltek Vision systems
- Knowledge of About Time software
- Ability to perform various Accounting Functions
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Auditing skills and experience
