Spencer Ogden is looking for a Senior Water Resources Technical Manager to join our client's California team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a variety of water resource projects addressing key challenges in hydrology, supply and demand forecasting, water systems modeling, and integrated planning.
With a growing backlog of work, we're seeking a seasoned professional who can provide technical leadership and deliver innovative solutions that make a real impact on California's water resources.
Key Responsibilities :
Technical Leadership : Manage complex engineering, planning, and scientific projects for clients, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Lead technical tasks of significant difficulty and complexity, leveraging your expertise in water resources planning to enhance project efficiency and quality.
Project Management : Provide strategic leadership to diverse project teams, managing the financial and technical delivery of projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring successful project outcomes.
Client Engagement : Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, participating in local, regional, and national water resources groups.
Work closely with the Water Resources Practice Leader to develop key approaches and lead initiatives that advance our practice.
Business Development : Play a crucial role in business development by leading proposal efforts, participating in project interviews, and identifying opportunities for growth.
Your expertise will provide a competitive advantage in the water resources market.
- Staff Development : Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance on technical skills and career growth. Help identify and fill technical gaps through proactive recruiting and internal development efforts.
- Quality Assurance : Supervise and coordinate the project work of technical staff, ensuring accuracy and adequacy of work products.
Provide quality control on large, complex water resources projects, contributing to overall project quality assurance.
Qualifications :
- Experience : Minimum of 15 years of professional experience managing water resources projects, with demonstrated competency in program and project concept development, hydrology, water systems modeling, and supply vulnerability analyses.
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field, required.
- Technical Skills : Expertise in areas such as groundwater management, integrated planning, and decision support. Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills are essential.
- Communication : Superior writing, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to interface effectively with co-workers, clients, and government agencies.
- Leadership : Proven ability to lead project teams in delivering large, complex water resources projects. Strong track record in mentoring and staff development.
