SUMMARY
The Electrical Maintenance Technician's role is to keep machinery and equipment operational by both preventative and corrective maintenance.
The Technician is working in a manufacturing environment and provides electrical and mechanical maintenance for conveyor belts, shredders and grinders, and plastics extrusion machinery, and all associated equipment supporting plastics manufacturing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Minimizes production downtime by immediately responding to emergency / corrective maintenance requests both verbal and written requests.
- Repairs all equipment.
- Documents, organizes, prioritizes and schedules maintenance tasks that require machine / line to be down to be performed upon the first possible downtime.
- Maintains good relationships between supervisors and team members to assure cooperation.
- Requests and follows up on any parts needed for repairs with parts manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- 5 years minimum industrial electrical and / or maintenance experience
- Basic hand tools including Multi-meter and Amp meter
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics
- Ability to troubleshoot, assess and repair
- Ability to build control panels from laying it out to final installation. (including all control wiring and hooking up to main power)
- Forklift experience
- Ability to work with minor supervision
- Ability to perform mechanical jobs such as changing bearings, belts, pulleys, oil in machinery and any other small task jobs needed
- Accurately fills out all paperwork (PM reports, parts requisitions, etc.)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing working environment. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and an increased noise level
