This individual will be responsible for leading in multiple areas within the UW department, including quality review audits, monitoring production standards, and developing the underwriters on their team.
The successful candidate must possess excellent critical thinking skills, effective written and verbal communications, and successfully provide coaching and staff development.
Essential Functions : Ensures the profitability and growth of personal lines business, including : Supervises the underwriting function to ensure timely processing, proper risk selection, and monitoring of renewal businessWorks with staff to build and maintain agency relationshipsManages complex underwriting inquiries, and reviews and approves risks beyond the authority of staffWorks collaboratively with the field marketing function to facilitate the resolution of service and other issues between the agency and the company.
Oversee the handling of customer inquiries and complaintsFunctions as a Supervisor of a business unit, either directly or through subordinate leaders, including but not limited to : Ensures adherence to underwriting policies, guidelines, and proceduresRecommends and communicates goals.
Directs operations to ensure the achievement of required resultsDevelops and recommends operational plans and proceduresResponsible for training, coaching and leading staffPrepares performance appraisals.
Conducts performance review meetingsMay recommend and / or implement employment actions, including employment / termination, corrective action, promotions / demotions, salary changes, etc.
May serve as a contributing member or leader of project team(s), coordinating resources to ensure achievement of project goalsPerforms other duties as assigned#LI-Remote
