Our Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) within our Administrative Services Division is currently recruiting for a passionate Continuous Improvement Consultant experienced in problem solving, facilitating workshops and conducting Lean specific training to support the larger DOL team.

Duties
Imagine that every day you get the opportunity to plan, lead, and implement continuous improvement training that has a long ranging impact on DOL’s success and staff abilities.
Our Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) team is focused on supporting a culture of Lean problem solving and process improvement.
Their focus is applying Lean tools, strategies and training to help DOL embrace, measure, and maintain improvements in our processes from the front line to the executive level.
As a Continuous Improvement Consultant (CIC), you will provide expert level consultation and analysis regarding continuous improvement related to complex business projects.
The work you accomplish will ensure that the agency can meet our project goals. Leveraging your strong interpersonal skills to gain buy in from matrixed resources through facilitation and engagement will be a key strength you possess.
Helping our DOL team through facilitation of Lean workshops and problem-solving methodologies is key in this role. The CIP supports executive leaders, mid-level managers, supervisors and staff to solve complex problems and create process efficiencies.
Some of what you will be doing :
- Provide expert facilitation services on an agency-wide, high profile and complex efforts between diverse groups on behalf of senior management using Lean strategies to highlight tools and teach staff.
- Coach, train, and develop teams and individuals to incorporate Lean strategies, concepts, and tools into work processes, projects, and other efforts.
- Evaluate, improve, and create specifications and procedures for the team.
- Work collaboratively with other disciplines to develop, teach, coach, and implement best practices and procedures.
- Utilize common Lean tools to educate staff (Value Stream Mapping, SIPOC, Pareto, 5S, 5 Whys, etc.).
- Provide consultation, coaching and development to Green Belt Facilitators.
Qualifications
What you will bring (Required) :
Seven (7) years of relevant experience in two (2) or more of the following : Conducting business process analysis and developing requirements.
Leading / facilitating business projects. Conducting research.Analyzing policies, laws, rules, or regulations.Managing business operations, or business policy development.
Experience Must Include :
- Formal Lean practitioner training or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Four (4) years of Continuous Improvement / Lean experience including experience leading or facilitating projects / process improvements in a complex organization.
- Two (2) years of experience coaching and training employees at a variety of continuous improvement topics and tools.
- Proficiency with all functions of Microsoft Office Suite.
Up to four (4) years of relevant education may substitute year for year for experience. (Associates degree 2 years Bachelor’s degree 4 years)
What may help set you apart (Preferred) :
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
- Experience teaching others Lean Six Sigma / process improvement tools and methodology including value stream maps, Key Performance Metric data collection, and other DMAIC tools.
- Experience actively championing efforts on agency policies and agency's continuous process improvement and performance management efforts.
- Ability to motivate and influence others without direct authority and obtain cooperation of other divisions and other government agencies.
- Formal organizational change management training and / or PROSCI Certification.
