The Vice President of Clinical Services (VPCS) leads the company’s clinical function and provides administrative direction to licensed nurses across the company.

The VPCS provides mentorship to regional, district, and area clinical leaders in both leadership and the delivery of quality resident care and services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and direction to licensed nurses throughout the company including periodic monitoring of resident care delivery, and clinical processes and outcomes.
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams in support of occupancy growth.
  • Champion resident satisfaction and resident retention efforts.
  • Develop, implement, and measure efficacy of clinical policies and procedures to meet company standards and state regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve escalated concerns and issues related to resident care delivery through collaboration with all involved parties including leadership across operations and clinical services, residents, families, physicians, team members, pharmacies, and or third-party vendors.
  • Immediately follow-up on reports of suspected or alleged neglect or abuse in accordance with the Escalation Reporting Process, company mandated reporter policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Report any actual or perceived improper activities and other job-related concerns in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with human resources and business operations to recruit, hire, onboard, train, develop, evaluate, and retain qualified licensed nurses throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with area and community operators to create and maintain positive engagement of nurses and caregivers in support of retention efforts.
  • Collaborate with regional, district, and area operations leaders to provide timely performance evaluations of regional, district, and area clinical leaders.
  • Timely complete assigned company and state specific annual training requirements, including, but not necessarily limited to mandated reporter, HIPAA, and resident rights.
  • Support a survey ready environment throughout the organization as demonstrated by the achievement of a 90%+ score on a Survey Readiness Visit, successful health and wellness audits of clinical services such as the Quality Compliance Review, and deficiency free state surveys.
  • Provide oversight and accountability related to our Value Based Care initiative and other clinical ancillary lines of businesses across the enterprise (i.

e., laboratory diagnostics).

  • Monitor process of conducting resident assessments, individualized service plans, and resident service records with an eye toward accurate and timely completion as well as continuous process improvement.
  • Provide direction to clinical team in support of their performance of nursing responsibilities in accordance with applicable federal and state laws to include the state’s nurse practice act.
  • Facilitate system development, enhancement, and training around electronic health records and clinical applications and / or software.
  • Consistently demonstrate a servant leadership approach that champions hospitality and delivers excellent customer service to team members, residents, families, and visitors.
  • Support efforts to provide and maintain a physical environment free of hazards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered Nurse, licensed in MN or NLS preferred. Advanced degree, BSN or Master’s, preferred.
  • Minimum ten years’ experience leading clinical efforts of a multi-site company serving older adults in senior living, long-term care, home health, residents with dementia, or other healthcare setting.
  • Strong business acumen including an understanding of a no margin, no mission / no mission, no margin operating philosophy.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Empathy for the challenges experienced by residents, families, and team members and the problem-solving skill set to support them.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to interact with a variety of electronic devices.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization both internally with team members at all levels, residents, and family members, as well as externally with vendor partners and other related parties.
  • Anticipated travel of 50-75% of the time (local, regional, and companywide) with the position preferably based in the company’s resource center in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
