We offer amazing benefits, career mentoring, and opportunities for growth with a focus on work / life balance. We build diverse and high performing teams to tackle some of the nation’s toughest problems.

Come work with us to help us execute our mission of technology in support of national security.

The Tactical Defense Systems Group works to find the best ways to protect U.S. Air Force vehicles. We study vulnerability to radar and infrared sensors as well as novel sensing modalities.

The group focuses on understanding threats through tests and measurements. Test activities include flight, field, and laboratory testing.

The group operates two highly instrumented airplanes and numerous ground systems. We prototype advanced sensor concepts and add instrumentation to existing sensors.

The group provides answers to survivability questions from our Air Force sponsors by conducting field measurements, analyzing data, and comparing the results to modeling and simulation.

We recommend investments in future USAF systems and present our advice to high-level decision makers in the DoD.

  • Assist with the development of testbeds to support laboratory and field testing with ground and airborne systems
  • Design, code, test, integrate, and maintain various radar and optical system testbeds
  • Operate one-of-a-kind sensor systems to collect detailed data for answering key questions related to air defense issues
  • Perform data analysis on collected data and generate presentations for senior leaders to advise acquisition decisions

How You Will Grow

  • Receive mentoring from experts in the field
  • Serve as a mentor to other staff in our group
  • Opportunities to work across the full life cycle of advanced sensor testbeds : system design, fabrication, integration checkout, lab / field / flight testing, and detailed data analysis
  • Work as part of a team, as well as with component and system vendors, to build robust testbed systems
