RESPONSIBILITIES WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Supportive Learning Environment : Paraprofessionals assist the teacher in creating a welcoming, supportive classroom where every student feels valued and empowered to learn.
  • Individualized Attention : Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them to understand and complete assignments, and ensuring they stay engaged with their learning.
  • Behavioral Support : Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and a productive learning atmosphere.
  • Communication Facilitation : Paraprofessionals act as a bridge between students and teachers, helping to clarify instructions and ensuring that each student's needs are understood and met.
  • Instructional Assistance : Aid in the preparation and delivery of instructional materials, adapting resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Emotional Support : Offer a compassionate ear and a supportive presence, helping students navigate emotional and social challenges.
  • Team Collaboration : Paraprofessionals work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to provide a holistic approach to each student’s education and well-being.

QUALIFICATIONS WHAT YOU BRING

  • Educational Background : A high school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or certification in special education, psychology, or a related field is a plus.
  • Relevant Experience : Experience working with children with special needs or autism (, RBT, mental health technician, teacher assistant, teacher aide)
  • Communication Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy and Patience : Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
  • Teamwork Mindset : Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of educators and specialists.
