Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician near Aurora, IL.
The QC Lab Technician will test, inspect, and develop testing protocols for raw materials and finished products to ensure and support the company's quality standards

Job Responsibilities :
- Quality Testing & Protocols : Follow organoleptic and quality control testing protocols for raw materials and finished products to support our company's stringent quality standards.
- Adherence to Standards : Strictly adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), ensuring the quality and quantity of products produced.
- Laboratory Expertise : Possess strong knowledge of basic chemistry, laboratory equipment, and testing techniques. Conduct tests and inspections on raw materials and finished products according to specifications.
- Proactive Investigation : Investigate nonconformance issues independently, arriving at reasonable conclusions without needing direction from Quality Assurance.
- Protocol Development : Develop and refine testing protocols for raw materials and finished products.
- Data Reporting : Report accurate and meaningful data, ensuring efficient workflow in the lab and timely follow-up on products on hold.
- Equipment Proficiency : Demonstrate the ability to operate all lab equipment, explain the basic theory behind it, and troubleshoot any malfunctions.
- Sensory Analysis : Exhibit expertise in sensory analysis and possess a deep knowledge of raw material sensory characteristics.
- Production Collaboration : Work closely with production personnel to troubleshoot quality issues and demonstrate knowledge of production processes and typical formulations.
- Continuous Improvement : Recommend ideas for laboratory and process improvements, taking initiative to seek additional responsibilities and projects.
- Effective Communication : Utilize excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey information internally and externally.
- Customer Support : Provide technical assistance and follow-up on customer complaints and CRM Case Management processes.
- Supplier & Customer Program : Assist with the supplier and customer approval program, including documentation maintenance.
- SOP Review : Review and recommend updates to Quality Control SOPs.
- Compliance : Comply with all SQF Food Safety requirements, FSMA, company policies / procedures, and adhere to the HACCP program with detailed recordkeeping.
- Additional Duties : Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Assurance and Management.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Food Science, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of basic chemistry and laboratory equipment.
- Wet chemistry and GC-MS experience highly preferred.
- Experience in quality control and testing protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with GMPs, SOPs, and HACCP programs.
