This position is responsible for balancing / reconciling the medical center's daily general ledger of cash received and posted.
This position includes working with the public and requires patience and understanding when receiving, maintaining and balancing financial accounts and records according to established procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Maintain daily worksheets for reconciling accounts, including AR, Bank Reconciliation, Cash Control, Returned Checks, Vault Cash, and Cash Receipts.
- Manage vault cash, ensuring adequate supply and handling requests from various departments.
- Process and post patient payments (check, cash, credit card), create cash batches, and apply allowances per established procedures.
- Input and process credit card payments electronically, ensuring approval / decline before posting.
- Review and accurately apply payments to correct patient accounts, cross-checking for accuracy.
- Balance and reconcile cash drawers daily, depositing excess cash as required.
- Scan remittances, correspondence, and checks into the system within 2 business days and prepare daily bank deposits.
Required Skills and Experience :
- High School Diploma with at least two years of experience in Accounts Receivable or equivalent training.
- Proficient in typing / keyboarding and calculator / adding machine skills.
- Strong organizational, written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Solid basic math skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of hospital billing and insurance remits is a plus.
Physical Requirements :
Lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, as well as repetitive use of hands and fingers.

Compensation Disclosure :
$18.00 to $24.00 per hour
